VACANCY FOR COMMUNITY COUNCILLOR

 

Are you interested in, and care about your community?

 

Do you have views on issues raised by the Community Council?

 

Are you prepared to listen, and put forward your community’s views?

 

If you have a couple of hours to spare each month, why not consider becoming a Community Councillor for Berriew?

 

Berriew Community Council is currently seeking to fill one casual vacancy by co-option onto its Council - If you are interested, please contact a member of the Community Council or Kath Jones (Clerk) at Dol-Hafren, Caerhowel Meadows, Montgomery, Powys SY15 6JF  (Tel:  01686 668182) before the 10/09/15.

 

It should be noted that:

A person is qualified to be elected and to be a Councillor if he/she is a British Commonwealth, Irish or European Union citizen and on the relevant day (that is, the day of nomination or election) he/she is 21 or over.  In addition, the person must meet at least one of the following criteria:-

       1)    on the relelvant day he/she must be on the electoral register for the community, or

2)     during the whole of the twelve months before that day he/she has owned or tenanted land   

      or premises in the community, or

3)     during the whole of the twelve months before that day his/her principal or only place of work has been in the Community, or

4)     during the whole of the twelve months before that day he/she has resided in the community or within three miles of it.
